Site Development and Permitting
The firm’s primary service involves the traditional civil engineering aspects of site development layout, grading and drainage design, utilities layout and erosion and sediment control design.  The firm’s engineers carefully craft all site development layouts to assure strict geometric and dimensional tolerance.  Grading and drainage design is performed with specific attention to earthwork costs and constructability.  The use of the AGTEK earthwork program is widely used on small or large projects as it interfaces easily with CAD document preparation and can be relied upon to provide accurate earthwork quantities.  This computer program also produces colorful graphics that allow for ease of understanding on a development site’s cuts and fills. 

The firm has earned respect for our work in preparing organized and thorough permit applications at all regulatory levels.  Our staff maintains close ties with many of the regulatory agencies including the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, The US Army Corps of Engineers and many local Planning Boards and planning staff.  The firm receives referrals on a frequent basis from various regulatory representatives as they recognize our ability to provide high level services to complex projects.

Wastewater and Sanitary Engineering
The Firm provides wastewater and sanitary design services on a wide range of projects including treatment plants and individual septic systems.  Typical projects include engineered onsite subsurface wastewater disposal systems requiring pretreatment to minimize impacts from nitrates.  DeLuca-Hoffman Associates, Inc. has provided design assistance and construction administration services on the City of Saco Wastewater Treatment Facility for a period greater than 10 years and we have been actively involved with the City of Saco’s awarding winning Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement program.

Airport Engineering
DeLuca-Hoffman Associates, Inc. has provided design services for the Portland Jetport since the Company’s inception in 1986. The approximately 50 million dollars in system improvements designed at the Jetport include a 400’ extension to the main runway, runway rehabilitation, widening several taxiways, a 3-mile perimeter access road, new access roads to the airport and a variety of apron and taxiway rehabilitation projects that included lighting and guidance signs.  Our long standing relationship with the Jetport exemplifies the firm’s commitment and dedication to providing quality and effective client services.

Stormwater Management
DeLuca-Hoffman Associates, Inc.  is widely recognized for its leadership, innovation and skill in the field of stormwater management engineering.  Increasingly complex regulations at local, State and Federal levels mandate ever more sophisticated stormwater systems and designs to address both stormwater runoff quantity and quality.  Our engineering staff applies hydrology, hydraulics, sediment transport, and water quality treatment in the preparation of environmentally sensitive project plans. The firm utilizes the most sophisticated computer models and geographic information systems to prepare clear and concise construction documents.  In addition the firm is recognized by reviewers and regulatory representatives for the thoroughness of our reports and work product.
